Key rules and scope of service
How We Operate
Clear boundaries keep everyone safe. Here is exactly what partners can expect from a Compassion Secure Transport transport.
- We handle both voluntary rides and involuntary (M-1) transports.
- Soft restraints are used only by Class A licensed staff, and only in a true emergency.
- We do not provide medical treatment or chemical restraints. That remains the responsibility of EMS.
- We are dispatched after the crisis or hold has been established by an officer or an intervening professional.
- Services are billed through Medicaid and Regional Accountable Entities (RAEs) in most cases, not an out-of-pocket cost to partner agencies or cities in most circumstances.
